Kitchen Declutter & Cabinet Reset | Rochester, MN
The Challenge
This well-used kitchen had gradually become difficult to maintain. Cabinets were overcrowded, food storage containers had multiplied, glassware and dishes were mixed without clear zones, and countertops were carrying far more than necessary. The visual clutter extended into the dining area, making the entire space feel heavier and more chaotic than it needed to be. Everyday tasks required extra effort, and there was no clear system supporting how the homeowner actually used the kitchen.
The Approach
We fully edited every cabinet, drawer, and surface. Duplicates were reduced, excess containers were eliminated, and items were regrouped by function. Glassware was consolidated and assigned intentional shelving. Pots and pans were stacked for accessibility. Food storage was simplified to only what was necessary. Drawers were redefined with purposeful zones. Countertops were cleared and reset to support daily flow. Every decision focused on reducing volume, improving visibility, and restoring order without overcomplicating the space.
The Result
The transformation was significant. Cabinets now open with breathing room. Counters are clear and functional. Glassware, cookware, pantry items, and utensils each have defined homes. The dining area and kitchen feel visually connected and calm. What once felt overwhelming now feels manageable, efficient, and easy to maintain — a kitchen that supports everyday living instead of fighting against it.
