Lower Level Bar, Fireplace & Workout Area Organization | Rochester, MN

The Challenge

This lower level had beautiful built-ins, a wet bar, fireplace, and workout area — but it had gradually become a holding zone for overflow items, luggage, décor, and miscellaneous storage. With multiple purposes happening in one open space, the room felt busy and underutilized instead of calm and cohesive.

The Approach

We edited items throughout the space, relocated what didn’t belong, and defined clear zones for each function — entertaining, relaxing, exercising, and storage. The fireplace built-ins were simplified and styled intentionally. The bar area was cleared and reset for practical use. Workout equipment was repositioned to feel purposeful rather than temporary.

The Result

A multifunctional lower level that feels open, usable, and easy to maintain. The bar is ready for hosting, the fireplace area feels inviting, and the workout space feels intentional rather than cluttered. The entire level now supports how the homeowners actually live — without feeling like storage overflow.
