Primary Master Closet Decluttering & Organizing | Rochester, MN

The Challenge

This primary master closet had gradually become overcrowded and difficult to manage. Clothing, shoes, and personal items were competing for space, making it hard to find what was needed and even harder to keep the closet tidy. Drawers and shelves were overfilled, and the lack of clear categories made daily routines feel more stressful than they needed to be. The goal was not perfection — it was to create a closet that felt functional, manageable, and easy to maintain.

The Approach

We began with a full decluttering process, sorting clothing and accessories into clear categories and removing items that were no longer being worn or serving a purpose. From there, we reset the closet with intentional spacing and simple systems designed around how the client actually uses the space. Clothing was grouped by type, shelves were reorganized for visibility, and drawers were folded in a consistent way to maximize space and make items easy to see at a glance. Shoes and accessories were given dedicated homes so everything had a place. The focus was on creating practical systems that support everyday routines — not complicated solutions that are hard to keep up with.

The Result

The primary master closet is now calm, functional, and significantly easier to maintain. Clothing is visible, drawers are organized, and the space supports daily routines instead of working against them. What was once overwhelming now feels manageable and intentional. With simple systems in place, the client can easily find what they need and keep the closet organized long after the session is complete.

If your closet feels crowded, overwhelming, or difficult to maintain, it may be time for a reDO.
