Guest Bedroom Transformation | Rochester, MN
The Challenge
This guest bedroom had gradually become a holding space for paperwork, memorabilia, framed items, and miscellaneous storage. Surfaces were covered, the closet was partially inaccessible, and the room no longer felt functional for guests. While the space had great natural light and solid furniture pieces, it lacked flow, clear surfaces, and intentional layout.
The Approach
We began by sorting and editing paperwork, framed items, and stored belongings. Unnecessary items were removed, and meaningful pieces were consolidated and organized. The closet was reworked to improve access and create clear storage zones. Furniture placement was adjusted to better balance the room, and we incorporated simple styling elements including updated bedding, layered pillows, proper lighting, and a woven storage bench to add warmth and functionality. Every decision focused on restoring the room’s purpose as a welcoming guest space.
The Result
The room now feels calm, open, and intentional. Clear floors and surfaces immediately reduce visual stress, while balanced furniture placement and soft styling create a comfortable, inviting retreat. The closet is organized and accessible, and the space is once again ready to comfortably host overnight guests.
The homeowner shared: “Dawn and Tracy have been extremely helpful in organizing my space after a big move. My goal was to create a peaceful, clutter-free home where everything has its place. After just two sessions, we’ve made remarkable progress, and I’m well on my way to a living space that feels calm and orderly. I highly recommend them.”
