Guest Room Decluttering & Organizing | Rochester, MN
The Challenge
This guest room had become a temporary storage space rather than a welcoming retreat. Extra bins, overflow items, and a crowded closet made it difficult to use the room comfortably — both for everyday living and for overnight guests. The goal was simple: create a calm, functional space that felt intentional instead of transitional.
The Approach
We began by decluttering every surface and clearing the floor space to reestablish flow within the room. Items stored in the closet were sorted, edited, and reorganized to maximize vertical shelving and hanging space. Unnecessary duplicates were removed, excess bins were consolidated, and the closet was reset with simplified storage and clear visual order. Furniture was repositioned to allow better movement and balance within the room. The focus was sustainability — systems that are easy to maintain.
The Result
The room is now calm, open, and guest-ready. The bed is accessible from both sides, surfaces are clear, and the closet functions efficiently without overcrowding. What was once a holding space is now a welcoming, functional guest room that supports both everyday use and visitors.

If your “extra room” has quietly become a storage room, it may be time for a reDO.
